Parade of the punies for Desert Fair

Puny people willbe parading the plat form at the 1997 Waiouru Desert gala, to be

held in March. The Mr Puny contest aims to provide an opportunity for young men 16-25

from throughout the region to show off their muscular bodies to the crowd. Prizes will be awarded for several aspects of the contestants' performance with the major prize going to the young man judged the puniest. Some major prizes will" be for personality and for the ability of the contestant to arouse the crowd. A panel of judges will select the winner, assisted by a public opinion vote. All contestants will be required to parade in both casual clothing and swimwear and when judgi ng i s completed al 1 the contestants will parade en-mass for the presentation of prizes. Entries for Mr Puny '97 close on Friday 14 February. Application forms may be obtained from Ken Morton 06-387-6111 ext 7917.
