Bowls

Ohakune Women' s Bowling members have beenplaying in Wanganui in an open triples competition. Two teams from Ohakune entered: A Nation skip, J Foster 3, N Burrows lead; second team V Brown skip, R Kaiwhare 3, B Hammond lead. To qualify teams had to win four games out of six over two days. The Ohakune women qualified and had to play in post section and if they lost, were out. Audrey Nation was unfortunate to lose her game. Vi Brown and her team went as far as to the last eight teams out of' the 72 teams that had entered, from Taranaki, Wellington and Hawke' s Bay. Hawkes Bay won the event and that was the team Ohakune lost against. Next step is the Masters Games, where two teams of four have entered. Results of the finals of the champion of champions competition are to be supplied at a later date.
