The legal description of the operational area is as follows: Lots 1,2,3,4 and 5 DP 70969, Lots 1 and 2 DP 70578 situatedinBlk XVI RuapehuSD, Blks III, IV, VI, VII, X, XI and XII Karioi SD Blks I and V Moawhango SD, Blk XIII Kaimanawa SD area. The area to be treated is described as all that land being part of Karioi Forest, east of the Rangataua Conservation area, south of Tongariro National Park, West of the Makahikatoa Stream and Whangaehu River and generally north of State Highway 49. This bait station operation is a 3 year project timed to commence on or as soon as practical after the 3rd of February 1 997 and will be ongoing from that point on. The Public are warned that dogs must not be taken into the operation area. All toxic baits will be dyed green and placed in bait stations. Warning signs will be erected at all access points to the forest, with smaller signs erected in and around each individual part of the forest being treated at any one time.
