Ministry for Raetihi woman
Faith Araitanga Winiata of Raetihi recently graduated with a diploma of ministry after a year ' s study at the Taapapa O Te Upoko O Te Ika in Otaki. She was one of 12 graduates who joined 80 Te Wananga O Raukawa and Ako Pai graduates at a ceremony attended by 1000 whanau supporters. Taapapa Ki Te Upoko O Te Ika, is one of five other units of Te-Pihopatanga O Aotearoa, which serves tikanga Maori in the Anglican Church in its pursuit of theological ministry and social service training. The area of service includes the rohe (tribal area), of Wainui a Rua. The Te Wananga O Raukawa and Ako Pai, together with Te Piho-
patanga O Aotearoa are all learning centres that come under the umbrella of the Raukawa Marae — a Maori university training centre. All students graduate with full national university recognition but with the additional emphasis of tikanga Maori. Mrs Winiata is currently resident in Otaki with her husband, the Reverend Hapai Winiata.
