Ohakune station defaced

Ohakune Railway Station stands forlorn after it was attacked by graffiti vandals last week, leading to much annoyance and sadness of the iocai community who have adopted the old building and brought it up to a standard they could be proud of. Main Trunk Rail Ohakune president Bob Norling said his group had already had offers of help to repaint the building, which would be done soon. This work would hold up voluntary work on other MTRO projects at the Junction, and cut into their funds. "We're very saddened, as are many in the community. But it won't be like that for long," he promised. Police enquiries are continuing.
