Message from the Commander
Colonel IAJ Marshall, Commander ATG: As we come to the end of 1996, it is timely to thank all personnel both military and civilian, for their continued contribution to the efficient operation of the Army Training Group during the year. 1 996 has been a very busy and demanding year for both the Army and the Army Training Group. I am very conscious of the hard work and long hours involved in meeting the challenges and achieving the many tasks set you, at some considerable cost to family life. Thank you! I would also like to take this opportunity to convey my thanks to the wider Waiouru community and the people of the Central Plateau. Through your support, you have made life in Waiouru Military Camp that much easier for the
service men and women and their families. I look forward to this co-operative association continuing in 1997. Let those of us who can celebrate the joy of Christmas as a family spare a special thought to those families who cannot, because of the need to provide essential services, or through the demands of operational service overseas. In closing I have one special plea to you all. Don't become a statistic this Christmas, nor by your actions make someone else a statistic. If you must drink don't drive, and if you must drive, don't drink. On behalf of the Military community of Waiouru, my wife Chris and I wish all those associated with the Army Training Group throughout 1996 a very happy Christmas and New Year.
