Post gift for Raetihi woman
Raetihi' s Edna Peni is the winner of the "Post Early for Christmas' competition run by NZ Post. Ms Peni said she was very happy and surprised when she received the phone call front Todd Barberel of New Zealand Post advising her that she had won a family holiday to Surfers Paradise. Due to health reasons Ms Peni has decided to give the trip to members of her family. "I'm giving the trip to my daughters and grandchildren. It' s a very special Christmas present, what a thrill it will be for them." New Zealand Post letters product manager T odd B arberel said the competition was a huge success with some 40,000 entries received. 'We were inundated with entries which was fantastic since this was the first time a competition like this had been
offered," said Mr Barberel. The competition required customers to send a bar code from a $4 1 996 Christmas stamp booklet with a completed entry form to be eligible to enter. "New Zealand Post held the competition to encourage people to post their cards and gifts early to give the receivers the opportunity to respond, and to help New Zealand Post manage mail volumes during our busiest time of year." "Like many businesses, Christmas is a peak time of year for New Zealand Post as we work around the clock to help people reach people during the festive season. We'd like to extend our appreciation to all customers who entered the competition and to congratulate Ms Peni and her family, and wish them a great holiday in Surfers Paradise," said Mr Barberel.
