Small Raetihi lamb fair yarding
Although there was a small yarding and few buyers at last week's Raetihi lamb fair, held Thursday 1 2 December, prices compared well with Fordell' s fair held the previous week. The auctioneers said the main reason for the small yarding was that many farmers in the district took advantage of the fine weather to work on their shearing. Selling was brisk and prices ranged from $20.50 to $39.20.for small-framed mixed sex lambs. Six twotoothed lambs fetched $30.00. Other ram lambs fetched $23.00 to $39.00. Six ewe lambs sold for $29.00. The next sale is booked for 16 January.
