• The college weather station has been recently upgraded further by NIWA (National Institute of Weather and Atmospheric Science) with the addition of a data input terminal at the school. This means that all information collected will be automatically collated by way of a modem (computer link to telephone line). Phillip Sutton, the manager of the weather station at the college, says that the new system will save time and effort for the school. • Activities week was held the week before last for all juniors. The opportunities and variety were great with some of the highlights being tramping in Abel Tasman National Park, visiting art galleries, plays and other cultural events in Wellington, biking and eeling, crossing the Whanganui
River and being hosted by the local iwi attending courses in hairdressing, carpen try, cocktail making and painting at Wanganui Polytech, visiting Rotorua and all itf attractions, firearms shooting, sailing anc kayaking and swimming at Lake Taupo Local institutions and indi viduals also ben efited from the students' contributions through community service. • The Form 4 enterprise studies programme ended the year by donating a percentage of their profits to training guide dogs. They had produced goods which they then sold. Miss Williams, their teacher said she was pleased with the range and quality of the students' products and the way that they marketed them at Ohakune' s carrot festival.
