The inclement weather experienced to date has kept the water temperature below that required for opening. The hours of public use are: Monday - Friday (excluding School Holidays) 3.00pm 5.00pm Weekends, Public and School Holidays (excluding Christmas and New Years Day) 1.00pm - 5.00pm Entrance Fees: Spectators and Adult Swimmers $1 .00 Children $0.50 Children under the age of 6 years must be accompanied by an adult being 18 years old or over. The pool is available for private hireage outside the public opening periods and enquiries for such a use are welcomed. REFUSE COLLECTION The Ruapehu District Council wishes to remind business operators in Ohakune and Raetihi that from 07 January 1997 Council will be enforcing its policy of collecting only official refuse bags. Refuse contained in boxes and unofficial bags placed on the kerb or elsewhere for collection will not be uplifted after 07 January 1997. Refuse contained in up to five official refuse bags will continue to be removed from the kerb at each Monday collection. Resource Management Act 1991 PUBLIC NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR RESOURCE CONSENT The Ruapehu District Council has received the following application for resource consent. Applicant: P J Abel Proposal: The establishment of a Tourist Accommodation facility for a maximum of 38 people, to be accommodated in 8 converted railway carriages located on Lot 23 DP 58907, situated at Park Avenue Ohakune. The complex is to be undertaken in two stages over two years. Stage One Relocation of railway carriages and their conversion for accommodation; with associated parking and landscaping; to be completed in the first year. Stage Two:Construction of Managers Residence and Office in the shape of a steam locomotive; associated parking and landscaping; to be completed in the second year.
