Delay not due to repairer

• Regarding the Meyer Bridge at Orautoha: What a cheek to say that Winston Oliver "decided to delay the

work". This was said by roads manager Gerrard Eckard at the Waimarino Community Board meeting. If Mr Eckard had checked he would have found that the Meyer Bridge was already in the process of being repaired. Also, why didn't he ring Winston to make sure all the required materials were on hand for the repair job? As it was the promised wire that was necessary to put through the side boards and onto the bridge dropers didn' t arri ve so Winston used his own wire. The nails that were sent with the timber were too small and again Winston provided longer nails to ensure that the timber was properly secured. I could say more and increase the size of the Bulletin. Mr Eckard. olease eet vour facts rieht.
