Lion Red club challenge
The annual inter-club 8-ball and darts competition was held last Saturday 2 November, between the Raetihi Cosmopolitan and the Waimarino clubs. There were team and individual competitions with the Waimarino Club winning the team challenge shield. Presenting the shield to David Herewini, captain of the winning team, Trevor Fredricksen, the host club' s captain, thanked Waimarino for the challenge and congratulated them for their second win in a row. David thanked the 'Cossie' for their hospitality, saying, " it was great, and hopefully we will see more members taking part next year." The evening's entertainment was a karaoke with a competition for team players, the winning team of Pearl Brown and Tania Herewini receiving a $50 bar tab. Results: Darts, women: 1st Kaylene Crossan, Waimarino; 2nd Denise Herewini, Cossie. Men lstSteve Wallace, Waimarino; 2nd Dave Herewini, Waimarino. 8-Ball, women 1 st Denise Herewini, Cossie; 2nd Ethne Kinnaird, Cossie. Men 1st Fatty Hiroti, Waimarino; 2nd Robert Brown, Cossie.
