Orautoha rubbish site debate not over
A plan to set up the Orautoha Transfer Station in the council-owned holding paddock will be dis- • cussedby Waimarino Community Board members on Thursday. Members will be asked to consider a recommenda-
tion to withdraw the resource consent application for establishing a transfer station on the old dump site; and to call a public meeting regarding establishing the transfer station at the nearby holding paddock site. This is counter to the
board' s earlier recommendation to establish the station on the old dump site, which followed the receipt
of a petition of local people opposed to the holding paddock site. Inadequate access to the
dump site, in safety terms, is cited as the counciP s reason for favouring the paddock site.
