Merrilyn George of Ohakune, has been selected as the junior singles player for the Wanganui Women' s Zone team to play in the inter-regional tournament at Palmerston North in December. In a lead up match against Wellington at Wanganui during the weekend, she won both games 25-22 and 25-7,
these being the only wins of the weekend for W anganui.
