Citizen's award extended to Waimarino
Raetihi's citizen's award is to be expanded to take in the whole Waimarino, the Waimarino Community Board has confirmed. Advertisements calling for nominations are to be placed soon, based on revised criteria. The board decided to accept the criteria suggested by council officers, apart from making one change — deleting the stipulation that people who receive Queen's awards would not be eligible. The board was critical of the fact staff were unable to contact the Parker family, whose donation led to the Raetihi award.
