Ruapehu College badminton

A large number of young badminton players tumed out on a recent Sunday afternoon at the Ruapehu College Community Gymnasium for club and college championships matches. Winners among the college competitors were Ashantha Perera who beat Mark Goldfinch in the boys singles 21-6. In a close match Cathy Cranston defeated Katrina

Marsh 24-22. Dwayne Marsh and Scott Nation beat Ashantha Perera and Mark Goldfinch 21-1 for the boys doubles title and in the mixed doubles Ashantha Perera and Donna Cranston beat Dwayne and Katrina Marsh 21-9. The competition was very well supported by parents. Both they and the players thanked Jocelyn and Colin Cranston who ran the competition.
