• Th'ree sets of skis and two sets of poles and an expensive tool set were taken from a vehicle parked at Karioi Lakes Reserve on Thursday. • Two Ohakune businesses were the target of burglars overnight on Thursday. Approximately eight packets of bacon were taken from a chiller at New World. • Police are investigating the intentional damage to property at the Ohakune Motorcamp in Moore Street on the same night. Offertders slashed a trampoline with a knife and also vandalised the coin-operated phone. • A food caravan at the Ohakune Junction was entered some time between last Sunday and Friday 20 September, with a deep fryer and kebab machine taken. • A Raetihi man was removed from outside the Ohakune District Court building on Thursday and remained in custody at the Ohakune Police Station while court was in session, after being found by Judge Lovegrove to be in contempt of court. • A snowboard was removed from a car parked in Rimu Street on Sunday. Two further snowboards were taken from a car parked at the Railway Station. • A Billabong jacket belonging to a local man, taken from the Ohakune Hotel, was later recovered. • Several vehicles around town were also broken into. In one the offenders attempted to hot wire it but without success, and in another the radio was vandalised. • A room at the Turoa Lodge was broken into on Sunday with some property removed.
