REAP offers expanded course range

Internationally renowned human development speaker Jacque Aldridge will be conducting several courses for the Taihape REAP in October and December. Mrs Aldridge gained her accreditation in Australia, where she lives for part of the year, and is registered with the New Zealand Council for Educational Research., She has an extensive background in human development, obtaining her MA in New Zealand and running courses not only for large corporations in both Australia and New Zealand but also via her own training consultancy which has offices in Wanganui and Sydney. Locally, she has held workshops for the Army Training Group in Waiouru and the Department of Conservation. Several of the courses which will be available in T aihape •have not previously been offered in this area, for instance the 'FIRO.B' course on developing leadership and the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator. As they are subsidised by the Government, via REAP, they are accessible to a wider cross section of the community, something which is not available in the cities. "In a recent course I had people from the age of 17 through to retired people in their 70' s," says Mrs Aldridge. Many of the courses are run over weekends and they are priced from just $35. Mrs Aldridge says she enjoys the 'time out' from her busy city life in Sydney and Wanganui when she comes to the country regions, finding different interpretations to the scenarios given in the courses. "Country people's perspective is totally different and their daily problems differ greatly from those of city people," she says. Her sensitive and down-to-earth style is known by thousands who have attended her workshops and she says that she "speaks from the head and works from the heart". She is married with six children and is also a marriage celebrant. For more information on courses available and their start dates phone the REAP office in Taihape on (06) 388 0109.
