Carrot kindy kudos

• On behalf of the Ohakune Kindergarten, I would like to thank all those people who supported our stall at the Ohakune Carrot Festival. We raised around $400 which will be used to help keep the kindergarten operating. As it costs approximately $25,000 per year to run the kindergarten and parents and donations only amount to under half this figure, fundraising is essential to cover the shortfall. The government's allocation to kindergartens other than teachers' salaries was only $980 last year, so any support or grants received are truly appreciated. A very big thank you to Bonnie Bramley and her helpers for unleashing such talent and enthusiasm in our children during the dance display at the carnival — an absolutely fabulous performance. To Rick Lowe of the Ohakune Hotel, our gratitude for allowing the children to finish the last dances in the warmth and shelter from the appalling weather. Raylene Deadman, Chairperson of Ohakune Kindergarten.
