Raetihi Spring Market Day

The 73rd Waimarino Spring Show is to be held again this Saturday the 21 st September at the Waimarino Club hall in Seddon Street, Raetihi. Local retail stores have also decided to 'make a day of it' by also holding a market day. Events will begin around 9am on Saturday morning with many of the local clubs and groups having fund raising stalls in the main street and there will be continuous quick fire raffles. Williams and Kettle are holding an auction in the old Dobson Bros store, beside the hotel, from 1 0am and
they have a range of goods from cars to riffles and furniture. There will be "a bit of a sale" on at McLean's store says proprietor Neil McLean. He reminds people not to forget to buy their Lotto tickets for the evening draw. Price's Pharmacy will be catering to the youngsters with great lucky dips as well as a
sale table and other specials. Dekker Machinery has a great deal on a new lawn mower. Now that the grass is beginning to grow again they have a whopping $214 off the latest Husqvarna model. They can also make your old mower as good as new with a tune up, new blades etc. The local Line Dancing group is putting on a display
at 1 0.45am with the first of the flower judging starting at 1 0.30am. Judges remind those who are entering flowers that they must have them at the hall no later than 9am on Saturday.
There will be afternoon teas available at the hall from 1 2.30pm, along with trading tables selling plants and cakes etc. Admission to the exhibition is $1 for adults with children free.
