House movers gently manoeuvre a railway house past the Buck's Drapery building verandah Monday last week. The house was being moved from Ruapehu Road railways land to a section in Moore Street. The owner said they had been unsuccessful in buying the land on which it had stood, and the option of leasing was unsatisfactory as it had taken two years to negotiate a two-year lease. The Bulletin understands that the Railways land in Ruapehu Road is the subject of a Waitangi Tribunal claim.
