WATS is more than just Waiouru
What's WATS? The Waiouru Amateur Theatrical Society, that's what WATS is. WATS has been around for over 20 years representative Chris Hodkinson said. "As long as I can remember," she reluctantly confessed. "Don't let the name put you off, just because the word Waiouru is in there, doesn't mean Waimarinoites can't join." .jgp "In fact we'd love to have them," Chris said. At a meeting held last week a committed team was formed and a production of some sort is being planned for staging before Christmas. She said they still need people to do set building, lighting, "people who know what they're doing". Anybody with lighting or technical gear for hire is also asked to call Chris on (06) 387-6660. Another meeting is being held at the Community House (opposite the community centre) Thursday 19 September at 7.30pm.
