Young ones enjoy their mountain

The Whakapapa Visitor Centre had visitors younger than usual pass through its doors last week when Waiouru Keningston Kindergarten four-year-olds visited. The children took in one of the two short films faudio visuals) offered and wandered around looking at pictures of 'their mountain' in various stages of quiet and eruption. Up-to-date photographs and information on Mount Ruapehu' s 1995 eruption provided an extra attraction for those who had visited the centre before. The most popular feature was the scaled down model of Tongariro National Park where little fingers could explore by touching buttons to light up various locations and information. Pictured are Casey Harrison and Kahlan Tutauha .
