• On Saturday afternoon a 20-year old woman was arrested after trying to stab her mother in their Raetihi home. The mother was not injured.

• A local man" was arrested last Tuesday for assaulting the driver of a bus he was on. The driver received minor injuries. • On Thursday evening a Raetihi man was arrested

for threatening behaviour after the vehicle he was in was stopped by Police. The driver was issued with a ticket for driving without a licence. • Two house burglaries were reported. One occurred at a Duncan Street address in Raetihi where food was stolen, and the other occurred in Foyle Street, Ohakune, possibly between April and June. Household appliances were stolen from this address. • Two thefts from vehicles were reported; one to a car parked behind the Ohakune Hotel. A wallet was stolen and later located on the bank of the stream nearby. The other was to a car parked in the Number Two carpark at Turoa. The offenders smashed the front passengers window of the Nissan SSS car and removed the stereo, radar detector, two pairs of sunglasses, two pairs of snow boots and a wallet. • Police were called to two fights during the week. However, both had ended on Police arrival and no arrests were made. • A 16-foot galvanised gate was reported stolen from a property in Soldiers Road. • Police are following strong leads to locate the

male who failed to return two F2 sno wboards and two pairs of boots hired from a local shop early last week. Leads are also being follo wed to locate the man who failed to return a pair of Rossignol skis and boots from another hire shop. • A report of an overdue helicopter was received from Auckland Search and Rescue. However, it was

located at Rangataua and was simply a case of the pilot not advising Air Traf- . fic Control that he had landed. • A 4x4 Kawasaki farmbike coloured red and blue was stolen from a farm in Ohura Road, Ruatiti last Monday night. • Several letter boxes were damaged in Clyde Street on Saturday night.
