Raw marketing

• Much to my amazement I heard a piece of TV news about our council putting more money towards attracting more tourism to our district. What! This can'tbe true. Money from ratepayers paying to bolster up tourism business? I voted to put councillors onto council to use rate money to the best advantage of the ratepayers. If the news was and is correct I suggest councillors resign en-masse and a referendum be put in place to ask how the ratepayers expect their money to be spent. On other people' s business profits? I think not! On roads, rubbish, water, parks etc, that is what we pay our rates for. If tourism business can't cope with a mountain blowing. up — nature in the raw — then I suggest they find a place and business that will make a profit for them. Spend ratepayers money Wisely.
