Ohakune wins squash

The annual squash challenge tournament between Waimarino, Raetihi and Ohakune went Ohakune's way this year. However, it was close to call with Ohakune taking it 20-18. There were 20 players per club and games were played with American rules. In Americancompetition, games are played within a time of 15 minutes as opposed to playing the best of three games. There was good crowd support with about 20 supporters. The competition was held last Thursday 1 August at Waimarino, being their turn to host the event. Mens' club captain, Alex O'Reily, presented the trophy, congratulating Ohakune on their win. Roger Suckling received the trophy on behalf of the Ohakune Club.
