Trees please!

Ohakune Primary School tree planters, from left, Kelvin Sue, Shantel Hemera, Gavin Lang and Nathan Horne plant a totara in Jubilee Park on Thursday as part oi the local Conservation 1 Veek project. ECNZ, the Ruapehu District Council and the Department of Conservation provided 200 native trees for the planting day. Meanwhile, the Conservation Week competition deadlines have been extended due to the distraction ofthe Olympics. The closing date for the colouring-in and mobiie-making competitions is now Sunday 11 August. Details are available from DoC ranger stations and schools.
