Temperatures for Waiouru remained relatively chilly throughout June and July with the average highs for both months sitting at around 7°Celsius. The highest temperature for June was 1 1 .2°C and for July 11.8° was recorded. The average low for June was minus 0.24°, while the average July low warmed considerably to 1.12°. The coldest day of the month for Waiouru was 2 June with the mercury struggling up to 1.2° and July wasn't much better with a high of 1 .4° being recorded on 3 July. Four light snowfalls were recorded in Jurie and two in July, the heaviest being a fall of nine centimetres on June 1 2 that was later added to for a total depth of 12 centimetres.
