Ruapehu rocking right along
While the mountain continues to whistle its merry tune, nightlife in Ohakune just seems to rock right along. This week in particular with the Mardi Gras being the highlight seems to be rather busy. Tonight at Bar Tribe the everpopular "Absolut Rave" takes dance music to new highs or lows if you don't like house/techno. Wednesday sees Utopia Cafe open up especially with The Far East Trading Co. putting on top Indian food for only $10 along with jazzy funked up sounds from DJ Brain. Friday sees DJ Sux play housey beats at Margarita' s from 9.00 pm to midnight. Don't forget happy hour 9.00 - 10.00 pm.
Saturday is the big one. A music Bonanza. All the way from Atlanta Georgia now li ving in Raglan, Ronnie T aylor Blues Band with a very funky original blues sound. If you want the real thang, then be at the Mountain Mardi Gras. Afterwards you can look forward to real Irish music from Michael O'Reilly courtesy of the Powderkeg or just maybe you will be rocking to the Exponents at Hot Lava, or maybe, just maybe you will be at the dance party at Bar Tribe. So many choices, so little time, so much bloody ash. Remember if you drink, don't drive.
