Fashion folk thank their supporters
Fashion '96, the annual entertainment night for the locals before the ski season, raised $2000 for the Ohakune Primary School. It was a most entertaining night, said Cath Campbell, one of the event's organisers. She said all shops put on an excellent show, from the spaceman introduction to Jeddie's Mr Happy performance through to Col and Neil for the Junction deemed by many to be ready for an acting career. A reporter from Radio New Zealand in Auckland was most impressed with the quality of the show but more impressed by the "warmth and togetherness" radiated by both spectators and performers, especially in the face oi' impending volcanic ash and bad ski season news. The PTA thank: The Holy Cow, Mr Mike; Jean City; Williams and
Kettle; The Video Shop; Annah S; Junction Ski Shop; Ruapehu College, Stage Challenge; Ski FM and Spiros; Paul and Karina Beckett; Primary School children mothers who organised supper; the models; Winstone Pulp International; Tonia and Annie; Kath Craig, (Sophie and Matthew); the Ruapehu Bulletin ; Franz at the AlpineRestaurant and Wine Bar; Cath Campbell; Jan and Bill Taylor; Kunikraft; Wayne Marsh; Graeme Lind; Janie McNie; the doormen at the Holy Cow; Primary school pupils for making decorations and everyone who helped and supported on the night with sandwich making and donations of food. The $2000 raised will go towards resources for the pupils of Ohakune Primary School.
