Waimarino meals need more wheels
The voluntary service has been up and running about 28 years, having been started by Rotary, with members cooking a meal for one extra and delivering it to the person concerned. Eventually, the hospital took over the cooking and drivers offered their time. Val Littlewood, the coordinator responsible for the roster, is looking for more volunteers and would welcome a call from anyone who could spare the time. It requires being on duty once every 2-3 months. So if you have a car and can assist, give her a call on (06) 385-4587.
