Fishing fashion?

"Cold As Ice" Fashion '96 will have fashion to keep you warm through the winter. In order of presentation on stage on Wednesday night at Holy Cow (formerly Hot Lava) Jean City open the show with many of their young and funky labels, (if you thought the new "Spacernan" Levis ad on TV was good - you ain'tseen nothing yet!). The agricultural flavour of Williams and Kettle will follow with all the hot farming models from the Waimarino on show. They will be wearing an array of good looking clothes from their shop, somewhere you might not have considered going to purchase

quality clothes. The newest addition to the Fashion Show is Ohakune's "The Video Shop". This is a short but very exciting presentation of everything but videos that are sold at the shop, with some very clever displays fit for the circus. Watch out for the guy with the ping pong balls! Annah S are on stage next and they have a beautiful group of local ladies showing off their own label which ranges from jodhpurs and boots to elegant evening wear. Stage show After these four shops, the Ruapehu College Stage Challenge team are performing. The finale is of course The Junction

Ski Shop, with a large group of energetic dancers/ models who will show off the latest in ski and apres ski clothing for the 1996 season. There are exciting ranges of colours and styles available - the look of the skier on the slopes seems to be more stunning every year. (Dare we tempt fate with a humorous crack about how well the outfits will contrast or perhaps blend with ash coloured snow!?). All of the shops have been practising really hard, pounding their paces up and down the catwalk to have a polished performance for your enjoyment. As always it will be the familiar-

ity of the models that helps enhance the show. The new folk at Holy Cow have been extremely helpful coordinating all the music and having the premises available beforehand, said organisers. It is worth coming and having a look and a listen to their awesome sound system which really will enhance the show. MC this year is Spearous from Ski FM; someone not at all frightened of a microphone. Proceeds this year are going to the Ohakune Primary

School. As yet the proceeds have not been targeted but as was said by the school's PTA, this great evening allows some non-profit making organisation from around our area, "opportunities" that would not otherwise be available to them. For that they thank you in anticipation. And a reminder to keep your door ticket because you must have it with you to be iri for the raffle. So come along to the longest-standing local event of the year and enjoy. See you tomorrow night — from the organisers.
