Fourteen years' service with the New Zealand Police by Ohakune Constable Stuart Ngatai was officially recognised recently, when he was presented with a long service and good conduct medal. Ruapehu area controller for the New Zealand Police, Jeff Holloway, presented
the medal at an informal function at the Ohakune Police Station, attended by current staff. Constable Ngatai transferred to the Waimarino in 1991 and served as sole constable at Raetihi for two years before moving to Ohakune.
