Waimarino Christians join world-wide march for Jesus

In June 1994 Waimarino Christians took to the streets on one very wet Saturday. They were taking part in a global 'March for Jesus' which brought together 10 million Christians in 178 nations to celebrate what they say is the goodness of God. In New Zealand, on the same day, 85,000 Christians marched through the streets in 85 towns and cities. This Saturday, 25 May, Christians from 200 nations will march through the streets in public celebrations of praise, prayer and proclamation of the Gospel. 'March for Jesus' calls Christians of all denominations to unite and take their joy of knowing Jesus beyond their church walls and into the streets. Organisers say 'March for Jesus' is not a protest, nor politically motivated and there are no hidden agendas. Local Christians are hoping and praying for a fine Saturday. However their enthusiasm is not likely to be dampened if it rains in Ohakune or Raetihi this Saturday.
