Introducing Broadbent Real Estate MREINZ

Broadbent Real Estate, MREINZ, has opened an office in Ohakune, located in Broadbent's Bookshop in Goldfinch Street. Mrs Shirley Martin, who has recently obtained her saies certificate, is to be their front line saies person. Mrs Martin (nee Byford) hails originally from Taihape, moving to Ohakune in 1991 to work at the Turoa Ski Resort. She has also been a familiar face at Downtown Ski & Sports and at the local Trust Bank branch. She has spent the past 3-4 months studying via correspondence with the Open Polytechnic to gain her certificate, having travelled to Palmerston North to sit final exams. She has recently married Keith Martin, also of I Ohakune and is interested in skiing and

mountaineering. She was involved with a 1994 trip to Mt Everest in the Himalayan mountains with a Youth To Everest expedition, climbing to a level of around 5,000m (almost twice as high as Mt Ruapehu) The business, which has it's origins in Northland where Broadbent Real Estate beganoperations in 1965, will be Ohakune's only locally owned and operated real estate office. They will be concentrating on the residential, commercial and rural lifestyle markets initially with plans to expand into rural and property management areas in the long term. There are also plans to increase the selling staff once the office is up and running to capacity. With any real estate office, window display space is essential, and to accommodate this proposed

alterations to the store in Goldfinch Street are in the pipeline. In the interim, the small space beside the post boxes will be utilised for this purpose. Mrs Martin will be available anytime, seven days to list properties and show themtoprospective buyers. She invites property owners, or buyers, to call in and talk about a saies plan. Call her at the office on 06 385 8645 or after hours on 06 385 9039.
