SADD days at Waiouru
Regional co-ordinator for Students Against Driving Drunk, Cathryn Curran had one word for their weekend in Waiouru — "awesome." Some 43 students from the central North Island region spent a recent weekend brain-storming ways to stop drunk driving, specifically how to target young people effectively. 'Think tanks' took up the bulk of the weekend, where ideas were developed that will go towards the new SADD 'How-to-do-it' manual. It wasn't all work, students did get a chance to do Army stuff, they had a go at one of Waiouru' s confidence courses which was great for team and confidence building said Ms Curran.
