Resignations leave two college trustee vacancies

Two resignations from the Ruapehu College Board of Trustees leaves two vacancies that the board hopes to fill by way of a by-election on 7 June 1996. Nominations are now open for the two parent representative positions. " As a parent representati ve it is of paramount importance that you have genuine concern to provide young people with a sound education," board chairperson Sheri Weinberg advises candidates. " A knowledge of the education sy stem would be helpful." The Board of Trustees meet on the first Thursday of the month and committee meetings are held at other times. The College has three committees; Finance, covering all finances associated with the college; Property buildings, health and safety, grounds. Personnel, staff and students.

ooaru memoers are required to serve on the committee of their choice. Trustees are paid $55.00 (less tax) per meeting for a maximum of 10 meetings per year. More information, including an information pack is available from the principal, Ralph Lane, at the college. Nominations close Friday 24 May.
