Combined choral concert

Taihape Arcadian singers and Wanganui Lyric singers will present a combined choirs concert next weekend. Each choir will sing a bracket of items and the music for the combined choir will be Vaughan William's 'Time Mystical Songs', Parry's Anthem 'I Was Glad' and John Rutter's setting of the blessing 'The Lord Bless Thee And

Keep Thee'. The concert will finish with John Rutter's 'Gloria' a work in three movements. Guest organist is Alison Stewart from Marton. Guest conductor is Michael Leighton Jones. Michael will also be the soloist in the flute mystical songs. The concert will be held in Taihape at St Margaret's ChurchonSaturday 1 1 May and in Wanganui on Sunday 1 2 May at 2.30pm in Christ Church. Both choirs have been preparing since February.
