UNPROFOR (Bosnia) may be over, but New Zealanders are still making their presence felt all around the world with the United Nations. In Angola a team of military observers have helped set up a small school in their location and the call came back to New Zealand for help. "Send us pens and paper," they asked and pens and paper they will get. Room One at Waiouru Primary School is co-ordinating the collection that will probably wrap up this week, and boxes and boxes have been got together for the long journey to Africa. Major stationery firms have been approached and on Friday good news came back from the Warehouse Stationery in Auckland — 200 pens are on their way. Perhaps it was because children did the organising that more than stationery has been given. Toys galore will soon be on their way and pictured are the Room One students with their haul.
