Firearm incident outside court
A27-year old Marton man was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a pistol and presenting a firearm following an incident outside the Ohakune District Court last Thursday. The Police allege that the man pointed the firearm at a group of about seven men who were standing outside the
court at about 10.30 am. The police have recovered a cut-down shotgun which was used in the incident along with a quantity of shotgun ammunition. He was remanded to appear on charges of unlawful possession and presenting a firearm on 30 May, when he appeared in the Wanganui District Court on Friday.
