Dusting off the hard--earned medals
4s did many serving and past servicemen and women, Waiouru's Returned Services' Association patron Laurie Prentice dusted off his medals for Anzac Day last Thursday. His task was to perform a simple ceremony, a posy laying. World War I veterans are few and far between, so the job of remembering lies with those who are left. Anzac Services throughout the country reported very good turn-outs. Pictured is Mr Prentice with his medals that include naval medals for service in the North Atlantic and Pacific where he served most of World War II.
