Ruapehu welcomes psychologist
Aj oint venture be tween REAP and the Special Education Services saw the welcome of psychologist Tiri Sotiri and his wife Diana to Ohakune recently. Mr & Mrs Sotiri were welcomed at Ruapehu College by members of the local i wi in a formal ceremony also attended by representatives of Tai Tokerau of
Northland. Mr Sotiri had previously been the SES area manager based in Whangarei and had worked closely with elders in the Whangarei region. Covering an area including both the Waimarino and Taihape regions, Mr Sotiri will be working with children from pre-school age through to college who may have need for his services.
Generally the children and young people will be referred by their parents, school or local agencies, although he stresses that no children will be seen without parental consent and all visits are strictly confidential.
