Ruapehu arts funds

An arts funding scheme similar to the Hillary Commission sports fund has made its way to the Ruapehu district. The fund, called the.Creative Communities New Zealand Scheme, sees $ 1 5,000 to be allocated in the Ruapehu district. At their last meeting, the Ruapehu District Council moved to set up an assessment committee to oversee the distribution of the funds. The committee comprises: Cr Ellen Gould, Robyn Caldwell and Pam Holdgate representing the Ruapehu Community Arts Council, David Squires representing the Waimarino, Kevin Amohia representing the northern iwi, with a southern iwi representative yet to be appointed.
