Interest in women's group

There has been enough interest shown to get a local chapter of the Maori Womens' Welfare League up and running. Area representative and national executive for Aotea Maori Womens' Welfare League, Tiahuia Abraham, is pictured with Captain Nik Nikora discussing area options. An inaugural meeting has been set for midday on 22 April at the Waiouru Community Hall. Waiouru community co-ordinator Ali Tamepo said people ofall races and from all districts are welcome. The league is basically women working for women and their children, education and health, said Mrs Tamepo.
