Ohakune Squash club news

At its first meeting for the year the Ohakune squash committee has set out a number of activities that will start the 1996 season off in earnest. First on the agenda is a . planned trip to the Aria Squash Club on Saturday 24 February. The visit will have special significance in that it is the Saturday closest to the opening date of the club which is the same day that the Aria Squash Club was opened. It is hoped the event may become an annual one with the venue alternating each year. An inter-business competition is planned for Wednesday evening starting the following week. Anyone can enter with teams being made up of five players. At least one of the team has to be a non-squash club member. Previously inter-business competitions have been very popular. Teams are split into different divisions to cater for the very good and the beginning 'social' teamS. Individuals wanting to join a team or have a team made up for them can ring either of the club captains: Trinnette Mott, 385-8838 or John Laurenson 3858489. Entry forms are available at various outtets including the Ruapehu Bulletin office.
