There is a great line up of entertainment for everyone at the Waimarino Agricultural and

Pastoral sho\ weekend. The number of entries in the horse and pony events is on the up this year according to

organiser Bernice Frost, with riders coming from Waverley, Taihape and Taumarunui

to compete against locals. Horse and pony events start at 9am on Saturday and show jumping

continues right W through Sunday. . A shearing competition /ill also be held anday (see tre page 7). e sheep and 2 classes are

always well supported by loeal breeders, and Mrs Frost says the quality of the stock is always very high. The sheep and cattle will be on display all day

Saturday, judging will be over by Ilam. Always a source of fierce competition amongst locals is the produce shed which will be open to the public by 1am. This

is a good chance to show off your handcrafts, knitting, cut flowers and your skill at floral arrangements. Children's entries are

also welcome. The

grand parade at 1pm. Mrs Frost wouldn't give any details but along with the bullock team and horses with ribbons, the grand parade holds a few surprises that will make it well worthseeing. A children's' pet parade will be held in front of the grandstand at 12.15pm sharp, all children are welcome to enter their pets (except horses) and there is a cup for th'e best pet lamb. Shardul the clown will be at the show all day, provid-ing entertainment aiming to intrigue the children. Other entertainment includes trade exhibits, side shows, rides and food stalls. There is a $2 gate fee for all except preschoolers, which Bernice says makes for a very cheap day out for the whole family. See you there!
