Army surgery now a private practice
By Michele Monaghan The Waiouru civilian surgery that was previously administered by the Army is now Moawhango Health & Sports Clinic Ltd, a private practice. Doctors Sean Barklie and Schalk Lombard are the two doctors who will run the practice and a permanent practice nurse and reeeptionist will also be hired. Waiouru patients will benefit from extended hours and an urgent consultation period run on a first-come-first-served basis week days from 4 - 6pm. Doctor Barklie said a weekend clinic may also be set up with hours to be decided. The private practice will no longer be a depot for prescription deliveries. Waiouru Pricecutter will serve as the uplift depot until a public meeting on 21 February, where pharmaceutical supply options are to be discussed. Prescription requirements may still be faxed from the clinic at the patient's expense.
