A chance to meet a horse

A steady stream of young riders took advantage of the 'gold coin' rides offered by the Waiouru Saddle Club at their open day on 27 January, to raise awareness of the club within the community. The club owns six horses suitable for beginner and experienced riders and members are keen to increase interest m the club and recruit people to foster Horses over the winter months. Fostering includes checking a horse regularly for injuries, taking tums feeding out hay, grooming and breaking winter ice on water troughs to let the horses drink. Club contacts are Judith Newton (06) 387 6080, Kate Rutherford 387 6276 or Kerry Poll 387 6056.
