Waimarino golf
On Sunday 7 January a good field hit off in a hidden 10-hole stableford competition in which the whole round is played but only the scores on 10 drawn holes are counted. Results: Ladies, 1 st J Williamson (Tauranga) 29; 2nd D Knapp 24; 3rd V Johns 23. Juniors 1st R Bielby 23; 2nd M Lloyd 22; 3rd P Goldfmch 21. On 21 January the Waimarino club will host its annual summer tournament. Entries are now open. Nominations close on 17 January for positions on the committee.
