Raetihi business notes
Wool store expanded Raetihi wool brokers Mannell and Follick Ltd are expanding their wool store to house a further 1000 bales. The existing shed holds up to 2000 bales. Store manager Shane Eades said it was necessary because of the increased throughput that the company has seen over the past three years, since the company bought the local wool broking business. Mr Eades said when they took over the operation in Raetihi they had one full time and one part-time staff member and now they have four full time and 2-3 parttime. The new store is expected to be useable by mid January with just some finishing work left after that time. Service station upgrade Raetihi's Caltex service station, in the throes of being completely rebuilt with a new shop and forecourt, should be completed in January . The new premises are being built in conjunction with Caltex Oil (NZ) Limited. Grocery face-lift Price Cutter Supermarket's proprietors have upgraded their Seddon Street shop with a fresh coat of paint and major repairs to the roof, with part of the roof being completely renewed. First birthday Ruapehu Farm Supplies' Raetihi branch celebrated its first birthday this month, after having taken over the Elders Pastoral branch this time last year. Branch manager Daniel Mills said he was very pleased with the way things have gone it their first year and thanks their clients for their support through 1995.
